Project Narrative
This LED button module was designed for use in VEX IQ robotics applications, functioning as both a user-facing interface and a robot-facing input device. The system supports multiple interaction modes, visual feedback through dual-color LEDs, and timing-based logic, enabling students and robots to interact through a shared hardware interface. The module has moved beyond prototyping and is currently in mass production, supporting an active educational user base of over 500 students. Design decisions were driven by reliability, simplicity of use, and the realities of classroom deployment, rather than laboratory conditions.
